Thanks to Leonard Steiner who lead me to the following from the newspaper, "The Pawnee Republican," Pawnee City, Nebraska, dated December 31, 1936.
Elizabeth Hoffman was born in New Haven, Conn., November 18, 1850, and passed away Thursday noon, December 24, 1926, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Hoffman.
She was united in marriage to Henry Bickert October 30, 1871. To this union were born nine children, of whom two survive, Mrs. Jerry Hoffman, and Charles Bickert.
Mr. and Mrs. Bickert came to Steinauer 11 years ago from Lincoln, where they had made their home a great number of years. They were privileged to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary 15 years ago. Mr. Bickert, who had shared with her life, passed away in February, 1926. After the death of her husband she felt lost, but found a good home with her daughter and family, where she peacefully passed the remainder of her life.
Funeral services were held at St. Anthony's church Saturday morning at 9 o'clock by Rev. Schlachter. Pall bearers were W. P. Klein, Anton Vrtiska, Sam Gottula, Emil Conradt, Henry Wetzel and Lew Hauner.
Sincere sympathy is extended to the bereaved ones by their many friends.
