| Birth: | Jan. 24, 1824 South Carolina, USA | | Death: | Nov. 16, 1864 Columbus Franklin County Ohio, USA | Daniel A. McCurdy was a Confederate Soldier hailing from the Great State of Georgia. He and his brother James G. McCurdy were captured in the Atlanta Area by Union Forces and transferred to Camp Chase a Union Prisoner of War Camp in Columbus, Ohio. Both Daniel and James G. died and were buried at Camp Chase. Daniel A. McCurdy is my Great Great Great Grandfather and James G. McCurdy is my Great Great Great Uncle. Daniel's Grave marker is #477 and written on the headstone is Dan'l A. McCurdy, CO F. 1 GA. REG. C.S.A. James G.'s Grave marker is #1112 and written on the headstone is J.J. McCurdy, CO F. 1 CONFED INF. C.S.A. I am including a favorite quote related to these soldiers: COURAGE:"Bravery doesn't mean you aren't scared. It means you go anyway." That in my opinion is true Courage. God bless you Grandpa and Uncle and Rest in Peace.
