Charles H Britton was a member of Allentown Methodist Episcopal Church in Upper Freehold, NJ until about 1851 when he and his family moved to Trenton, NJ. While in Allentown Charles was a member of the first firefighters squad. Later on while in Trenton Charles H Britton helped organized The Methodist Church along with his future son-in-law John B Warner. Charles along with his wife Anna raised three boys and a girl: Manning, George, Charles and Mary. He was a shoemaker by trade.
