In his 1917 U.S. passport application, 31 yr. old Roger, born in Rochester, Pa. was working for the Graham Nut Co. and applying to go to France for commercial business reasons. Roger had been working for this company continuously since 1901 and his purpose in going to France was to establish connections for the handling of their product abroad.
He was described as 5'6" in height, with an oval face, a high, broad forehead, blue eyes, prominent nose, small moustached mouth, round chin, dark hair and normal complexion.
According to his Jun., 1918 American Passport Bureau Office in Paris application, Roger's father was John A. Adams, who was born in PA. and was then living in Corry, PA. Roger had been living in Paris in the 16th arrondissement at the rue de la Pepiniere, since May 8, 1918. He was working in Paris on behalf of the Chas. J. Graham & Co. American firm, located at 1936 Woolworth Bldg. in NYC.
Roger's brother, John T. Adams of the Pittsburgh Athletic Association, was now in the U.S. Army (Ambulance Corps) in France.
In his 1918 WWI Draft Registration card, Roger was described as medium in height and build, with blue eyes and brown hair.

ADAMS – Roger J. Adams passed away at his home 425 East Green Street. A native of Rochester, Pennsylvania, he had been a resident of Pasadena 35 years.
He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Robert Barlow of San Marino, and Mrs. Gertrude A. Saxer of Erie, Pennsylvania; also seven nieces and nephews.
Services 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel of Turner and Stevens Co., 95 North Marengo Avenue. The Rev. John Harris Burt officiating.
Private interment Forest Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may contribute to the San Marino Guild of the John Tracy Clinic.
