Olga Alber. 105, of Des Moines, Wash., formerly of Nebraska City, died Jan. 13, 2003 at the Wesley Terrace Retirement Home. She was born Jan. 19, 1898 to Christian and Lena Alber in Trenton, Mo. She graduated from Nebraska City High School, attended Peru State Teachers College, and received her bachelor of arts from the University of Chicago and masters from Columbia University in New York City. She attended summer sessions at the University of Vienna, Austria, the University of Oslo in Norway and the German Academy of political Science near Munich, Germany. She taught for eight years in Nebraska and 36 years at the Rosedale High School in Kansas City, Kan. She also taught three summer sessions at Peru State Teachers College. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Nebraska City, the Chapter FV P.E.O. Sisterhood in Nebraska City, the Delta Kappa Gamma Teachers Honorary Organization in Kansas City, Kan., and AARP. She loved to travel, touring Europe, the Orient, South America, Mexico, Cuba, Canada. and Hawaii. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Dorothea Gamlin, Emma Minard, and Ellen Alber: and brothers Carl Alber, and Albert Alber.
