Joseph Benoit, 63

In Taunton, Oct. 17, 2013 Joseph Benoit, 63, passed away in Morton Hospital while surrounded by his loving family. Joseph is survived by his wife Susan (Simmons) Benoit of North Dighton.

He was born in Attleboro, the son of the late Leo & Phyllis (Robinson) Benoit. Joseph has been a Dighton resident the past 42 years. He was a self-employed distributor. He was instrumental in the development and location of the Lopes Athletic Complex in Dighton. Joseph enjoyed coaching baseball, watching his children and grandchildren's sporting events and above all cherished his time with his family.

Joseph is survived by his children Joseph Benoit and his wife Laura of New Mexico, Jeremy Benoit and his wife Erin of Austin, Texas, Kathy Benoit Marr and her husband David of Somerset, Jeffrey Benoit of Dighton and Jonathan Benoit of Dighton. He also leaves his loving grandchildren Emily, Cameron, Dillon, Lillian, Avery, Ethan, Morgan and Molly. Joseph leaves his siblings Michelle Miller of California, Mary MacDonald of Dighton, Leo Benoit of Berkley and William Benoit of Dighton.

A service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints, 400 Cross Road, North Dartmouth, MA 02747 on Wednesday, Oct. 23rd at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the O'Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA 02780. Burial will be in Stevens Corner Cemetery in Rehoboth.
