Corporal Sverre Granlund was a Norwegian Commando during the second World War.
Granlund was born in Sauherad in the Telemark County, Norway.He served in the Norwegian Army in the battle of Narvik in 1940 - untill the Norwegian Army surrendered to German Occupation.
In 1942 he played a major part in Operation Musketoon- a commando raid against the Glomfold Generator Plant. During this raid, Granlund had to kill a German Guard, at the plant. He then escaped to England.
He died at sea on 10th February 1943 in transit to Norway - the Norwegian submarine HNOMS hit a German minefield and all hands were lost at sea.
Granlund loved to read Poetry - especially those written by Nordahl Grieg.
