Funeral services for William Peterson Miller, 74, of Green River, were conducted Wednesday Feb. 20, at the First Ward LDS Church in Green River, with the Bishop Dale Hamblin officiating.
Pallbearers were Lee Hill, Bill Miller, Ted Rhodes, Rand Rhodes, Ryan Rhodes and George Rhodes. Honorary pallbearers were Elder David Miller, George Narramore, Wiley Shaver, George Fletcher, Ed Hofeldt, Charlie Baker, Glen Sadler, Don Reuss, Frank Gregory, Rosie Lake, Irwin Dana and all his other friends.Burial was in River View Cemetery in Green River.
Mr. Miller, who lived at 760 West,Third North, died Feb. 16, at the McKay Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah. He was a member of the LDS Church and worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for 47 years as a freigth agent and station supervisor before retiring in September, 1972. A resident of Green River since 1935, he was a member of the U.P. "Old Timers" No. 18 and the Golden Hour Senior Citizens Center.
He was born on August 28, 1908 in Diamondville, Wyoming, the son of David W. Miller and Anna Peterson Miller. He married Bernice Kirkwood on Sept. 21, 1932 in Randolph, Utah.
He is survived by his wife, Bernice, of Green River, two sons William Peter Miller of Morgan, Utah, and A.N. Miller of Martinez, California. Four daughters, Mrs. George (Barbara) Rhodes of Morgan, Mrs. Jerry (Anna) Hill of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Mrs. Don (Susan) Barker of Green River and Mrs. Robert (Meridee) Russell of Green River, a sister, Mrs. Lee (Helen) Smith of Santa Ana, California and 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
