William Charles Hunt, son of Stephen Hunt and Sarah Fletcher.
William came to the US in 1840, 3 years after his mother, brothers, and sisters. His father died in 1837, promoting the migration of his mother and siblings. The family traveled with William's uncle, John Fletcher.
He was Naturalized in 1848 in Rhode Island.
In 1844 he married Irish-born Matilda Willoughby in Ontario, Canada. There children were Henry, Susan, Harry, George, Minerva, and Lilly.
He was a merchant and broker.
Sometime between 1870-1887 he came to Pierce City.
William is the brother of Benjamin Hunt, who briefly lived in Pierce City in 1870.
He is buried next to Nancy Howell Bowen (wife of William Bowen), sister-in-law to Benjamin Hunt.
Nancy has no marker, but is with her son Ephraim.
