LANCASTER, Wis. - Clarence R. Adams, 79, of Lancaster, died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2001, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque.
Services will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Schwartz Funeral Home, Lancaster, with the Rev. Lynn Church officiating. Burial of the cremated remains will be in British Hollow Cemetery, at a later date. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Adams farmed on the home farm in Hurricane Township for many years. He also worked at People's Community Oil Co-op, Lancaster, for more than 16 years. He later returned to farming in Ellenboro Township, retiring in 1982, and moving to Lancaster.
He was born on Feb. 11, 1922, in Hurricane Township, Grant County, son of Nicholas and Viola (Keehner) Adams. He married Ila (Bass) Dubel on Aug. 21, 1985, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua, Iowa.
Surviving are his wife, Ila, of Lancaster; a stepson, Ronald (Julieta) Dubel, of Freeport, Ill.; step grandchildren, Tim (Charlotte) Dubel, of Darlington, Wis., Dan Dubel, of Almond, Wis., and Justine and Julianne Dubel, of Freeport; three step great-grandchildren; two nieces, Patricia (Thomas) Zenz, of Lancaster, and Karen (E. Thom) Rogers, of Mosinee, Wis.; and a nephew, Larry (Mary) Irish, of Deerfield, Mo.; many great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Lola Adams, of Alma, Kan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Harold; and a sister and brother-in-law, Lucille and Cletus Irish.
