Jack Roy Cummins, son of Roy and Ruth (Olson) Cummins, was born December 17, 1924 at Sioux Falls, SD. He grew up in Sioux Falls and attended Washington High School. He entered the US Army in 1943 where he served during WW II in India, and was honorably discharged in 1945. He spent 8 1/2 years working in Dallas, TX and then moved to California. He worked for many years as a supervisor for Hughes Helicopter in Culver City, CA and Boeing Aircraft in San Diego and Los Angeles, CA. Jack helped design the templates for the Apache Helicopters. Following his retirement in 1984 he moved back to Sioux Falls.

Jack was a very skilled craftsman in sheet metal work and enjoyed the detail work of cars and model cars. He also enjoyed sports.

Grateful for having shared his life are a sister-in-law, Violet Cummins, Sioux Falls, SD; four nieces, Susan Kiner and her husband, Bob, Sioux Falls, SD, Kathy Johnson and her husband, Don, Cocoa Beach, FL, Denna Cummins, Dallas, TX, Joanne Roschewski, Torrance, CA; five great-nephews; and four great-nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Orval, Leonard, and Clayton; and two sisters, Mildred Keith and Evelyn Stewart.
