Benjamin W Johnson was born abt 1833 to Rowan Johnson born 1804 and Sarah Cross Johnson born 1809 in Emanuel County.
Benjamins siblings were: Joseph C Johnson, James M Johnson, Mosell Johnson and Russell W Johnson. We see these same family name repeat in the following generations, and some of them are buried here in the Johnson Family Cemetery.

The Johnson's were farmers, but they also made moonshine. They were so good at it in fact that Benjamin's brother Joseph obtained a permit to sell liquor.

Benjamin was in the Civil War 54th GA Infantry, Co C as a Private.

He died in 1876.
