Hazlehurst. Sept. 11 - Mrs. Floyd S. Abel. 25, a native of Copiah Copiah county, died at Mobile early Sunday. She was the former Laura Jayne McCardle.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a. m., Tuesday from the Sardis Baptist church. 9 miles southeast of Hazlehurst. Interment will be In the church cemetery. The services will be conducted by the Rev. Martin L. Douglas, pastor of the Sardis church, assisted by the Rev. M. P. Jones of Hazlehurst. She was a member of the Poplar Springs Baptist church.
She had made her home in Mobile for three years, where she was a member of the faculty of Barton Academy high school. She graduated from Mississippi Southern In 1945 and taught in the Greenville public schools after graduation. She also served as FSA home supervisor in Humphreys county before going to Mobile.
Mrs. Abel was a member of Alpha Sigma Alpha, the Mobile Education Association. Alabama Education Association and various ether civic and social groups in Mobile.
Survivors are her husband. Floyd S. Abel: a son. Smittv. age 3: a sister, Mrs. Webb Miller. Hazlehurst; a brother, John Wendell McCardle. Hazlehurst; and her parents. Mr. and Mrs. W. H. McCardle. Hazlehurst.
Active pallbearers will be Fred Abel. Alfred Abel. J. R. Halford. Ray Clark. W. H. Hatten, W. D. Miller. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. R. B. Zeller. Dr. Samuel Eichold. Dr. R. C. Cook. C. I. Allen. E. E. Peek. R. E. Day. Dick Cooper.
