Claude S. Chisam, aged 48 years died 05 Sep 1929 at the city hospital this morning at 8 o'clock following a major operation on Friday. Funeral services will be through Poole-McCaleb.
Claude was born 30 Aug 1881 in Smithville, DeKalb County, Tennessee to Preston Blakely Chisam and Dixie Evelyn Dunham.
Surviving are his wife, Susie Chisam; his mother, Dixie Chisam; four sons, Austin of Akron, Ohio; Jennings, Perry and Woodrow all at home; one sister Mrs. Mattie West of Smithville, TN.
Funeral services are at 2 p.m. from the Christian Church at Dallas, with Rev. D. G. Lodgen of Fayetteville, officiating. Interment will be in Maple Hill cemetery with Poole and McCaleb in charge. The Woodmen of the World will have charge of the funeral service at the grave. Pallbearers will be W.W. Smith, J.W. Blunt, Humes Schrimscher, Milo Pogue, Will Prim, and S.F. Certain. Honorary: H.E. Bell, A.E. Pogue, Alvin Adcock, Shilo M. Dickey, Alonzo F. Baucom, Willie Cantrell, Ed Lackey and Floyd Jones.
Mr. Chisam was a life-long member of the Christian, a highly respected citizen of Madison County and his death will be keenly felt by a large number of friends
