Joe was born in Fletchertown, Cumberland, England. It's a small community of attached houses built for mine workers and was still active in 2005. It's lanes are tight - literally. My car got stuck. Joe and his older sister came to the US with their parents and aunt in 1887. Both children were very young.

Joe had a brief life in Nebraka; his parents lived in Clark Twp., Dixon Couty, NE. He died in Sioux City, IA at age 19. He was probably named after Isaac's younger brother who remained in England.
