DANIEL DANIELSON BURIED FRIDAY March 4, 1955

Services Conducted at Salem Lutheran Church at Dalbo Nine Children Survive

Daniel E Danielson, 92, father of Mrs. Otto Sorenson of the Dalbo community died at the Northwestern hospital in Minneapolis on Feb. 28 after an illness of four weeks. Funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon at the Salem Lutheran church at Dalbo. Pastor Ralph A. Nelson had charge of the services. Mrs. Oscar Johnson accompaniment for Elna and Ennoch Leaf, who sang one song in Swedish "Om en Kort Liten Tid" and two in English. "He the Pearly Gates Will Open" and "Beyond the Sunset" Interment was in the Siloa Lutheran cemetery by the side of his wife. Sophie, who preceded him in death 43 years ago.

Daniel Danielson was born June 24, 1862 in Dallaren of Sweden. His father was killed in a stone quarry accident when Daniel was only two years of age. At the age of seven he came with his grandparents from Sweden and settled what is now the Carl Westberg farm. A few miles southeast of Dalbo. Having been baptized as an infant in the Lutheran church in Sweden he was confirmed in the Salem Lutheran church of Dalbo.

In 1890 he was married to Sophie Holm. Nine children were born to this union. His wife, Sophie, died on August 9, 1911. He was left with nine children, the oldest daughter being Esther, who latter became Mrs. Otto Sorenson, The eldest son, Oscar, left home many years ago and his whereabouts is not known.

Mr. Danielson had never been ill until after he was 80 years old,. During his last illness he spent four weeks at the Northwestern hospital in Minneapolis and was taken to the Hazel Eng Nursing Home in Minneapolis. On Sunday Feb 27 he was again taken to the Northwestern hospital where he died the next day.

Surving Mr. Danielson are his children, Mrs. Otto Sorenson (Esther) of Route 1, Stanchfield: Theodore, of St. Paul, who at present is seriously ill at the Anker hospital in St. Paul; Mrs. Harry Dahlman ( Edna), of North Branch; Mrs. Arvid Holm (Elvina) of Minneapolis; Mrs. Frank Phelps ( Daisy) of Columbia Heights; Mrs. Paul Sarico ( Belinda of Columbia Heights; Mrs. Frank Novak (Olga) of Milwaukee, Wis; and Floyd of Edina.

He is also survived by 21 Grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. His cousins are well known in the Dalbo community. One cousin Mrs. Emma Wing, preceded him in death and the following cousins survive him; Mrs. Mary Matson, of Cambridge: Mrs. Carl Westburg, of Springvale; Mrs. Elmer V. Erickson of Cambridge, and Mrs. Charles Odahl, of Lindsborg, Kan.

Pallbearers were six grandsons; William, Archie, Theodore and Gary Danielson, Robert Sarico, and Norris Sorensen.
