Budd Clark was a Private in Company D of the 28th Iowa Infantry and he died on Dec. 26, 1899, at the Boise Barracks (Fort Boise) near Boise, ID. Budd Clark was born in Thompson, Sullivan County, New York, in 1841. He was a son of Joseph F. and Catherine Clark.Budd's wife, Lydia S. Clark, who was born about 1843, in Canada, filed a Widow's Military Pension after his death and she filed it from the State of Idaho, on April 14, 1900. She was recorded on the 1900 census of West Caldwell, Canyon County, Idaho, Lydia Clark and as a widow, with a 31 year old son Albert (who was born in Iowa).Budd Clark was recorded on the 1850 census of Thompson, Sullivan Co., N.Y., living with his parents as a 9 year old boy who was born in N.Y. He was also recorded on the 1870 census of Benton County, Iowa, with his wife Lydia, and his son Albert and a daughter (Alberta) who was 7 months old. (bio by: kelly greer)
