She was born August 19, 1925 and was raised and lived all over the world, first as the daughter of a General Motors executive, then as the wife of an Air Force pilot.
She was married in 1957, at Biloxi MS, to Richard "Woody" Adams.
Jean was an avid sportscar racer and a lifelong horselover. During the Korean conflict, she operated a U.S. Airforce service club in South Korea. Following Woody's retirement, she moved to the ghost town of Virginia City, near Galena, where she lived for the rest of her life.
She is survived by her husband, Woody, and two children, Michael Lee (Mary) Adams, Galena, and Lallie (Ray) Peterson, Knoxville, TN, three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a sister, Shirley Gunn. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother-in-law.
A gathering of Jean's family and friends will take place 1:00 pm, Monday, June 7, 2004 at the Lead-Deadwood Memorial Chapel in Lead. Private inurnment will be at a later date.
