Born in Shawnee, Okla., on Aug. 9, 1928, to John and Myrtie Riddle, she passed away at her home on Friday, June 24, 2005, with her family by her side at the age of 76. Naomi grew up in Oklahoma and came to California in 1937. She married Guy Barnes in Exeter on Sept. 9, 1944. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Survivors include her husband, Guy Barnes of Visalia; three daughters, Yvonne Wright-Scott and companion, James Williams of Lompoc, Viola Compton (Danny) of Stratford and Kimberly Robinson (Richard) of Visalia; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sisters, Maudie, Eula and brother, Paul, sister-in-law, Imogene Madewell of Mo. Numerous nieces and nephews. Son, Jerry Barnes, preceded her in death in 1984.

Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at Exeter Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. today at Smith Family Chapel, Exeter.
