Corrie F. Bellamy Jr., 55, died Friday, March 15, 2002, at New Island Hospital in Bethpage, N.Y.

He was the son of the late Corrie and Ethel Bellamy Sr.

He was a native of the Cochran community and graduated from Whittemore High School and Denmark Technical College. He served his country in the Army for three years and was stationed in Vietnam for two years. He retired from the Army Reserves in Hempstead, N.Y.

After his tenure in the Army, he was employed by the Postal Service for two years and the N.Y. Transit Authority for 25 years, where he retired. He was a member of Shaw Temple AME Zion Church in Amityville, where he served as an usher, steward, lay council president and men's choir president.

Survivors include his wife, Dr. Patricia B. Bellamy; a daughter, Katrina of Amityville; a granddaughter, Imani of Amityville; a sister, Ethel A. Grissett of Conway; three brothers, Kenneth Bellamy and his wife, Cheryl, of South Orange, N.Y., Robert Bellamy of Newark, N.J., and Thomas Bellamy and his wife, Linda, of Hempstead; a special sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Linda and Harry Huell of Salters; an uncle, Frank Bellamy; two aunts, Bessie and Daisy Stanley of Conway; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was predeceased by a brother, Richard Johnson.

A private viewing for family members will be from 6 to 7 tonight at Rhue's Mortuary of Conway.

Visitation will be from 7 to 9:30 tonight at the funeral home.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Greater St. James AME Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
