Curtis Beach was born in 1804 in either CT or PA, son of David Beach and Keziah Hendricks. He and his parents moved from CT to Seneca County, NY about 1818. He was a farmer his whole life. Curtis first married Angelina Suylands, likely in Seneca County and had 5 children: James, Margaret, Harriet, David C., and Mary. Sometime between 1841 and 1846, he second married Barbara Mowers from Herkimer County, NY and had 3 children: George, William H, and Ann E. When Curtis died in 1852, Barbara and at least 2 of their children removed to Stark, Herkimer Co, NY where they were cared for by the Mowers family.
