Services for Kirby LeAngelo Brooks of Brookhaven are 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 1 at Alexander Junior High school auditorium with burial in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Visitation is Friday from noon until 5 p.m. at Williams Mortuary with family hour Saturday from 1-2 p.m. at the school.
Mr. Brooks, 32, died Dec. 27, 2004, in Hazlehurst. He was born in Chicago, III., on May 22, 1972, to Kirby Matthews Sr. and Jessie Ann Brooks Womack.
He was a forklift driver for Advance Auto Parts in Hazlehurst. He was a 1990 graduate of Brookhaven High School and a member of St. James M.B. Church.
Preceding him in death were his father; and his grandmother, Clara Brooks.
Survivors are his wife, Sonya Melvin Brooks of Brookhaven; his mother and stepfather, Jessie Ann Brooks Womack and Ray Womack, of Brookhaven; his daughter, Shakyria Brooks of Brookhaven; his sons, Shamar Brooks, Jadahn Brooks, Orlando Wesley and Darrion Poole, all of Brookhaven; his sisters, Terria Green and her husband, Victor, of Brookhaven, Christi Brooks and her fiance, Jeramy, of Brookhaven, Shonda Williams and her husband, Sean, of Brookhaven, Latoi Matthews, Tamesa Matthews, and Antoinette Matthews, all of Chicago; his brothers, Dwayne Cameron of Oakland, Calif., Allan Matthews, Mario Matthews and Kenyon Matthews, all of Chicago; his grandmother, Lela Matthews of Chicago; his grandfather, Jessie James Johnson of Picayune; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
