Dorothy M. Broeker, 78, of Culver, passed away at 7:25 p.m. on Jan. 24, 2006 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Dorothy was born in Winamac on March 4, 1927. She was the daughter of Edward and Ethel (Jones) Peters, who preceded her in death. She attended the Winamac Schools.
On May 6, 1949, she married Clarence E. Broeker in Plymouth. He preceded her in death on Jan. 18, 1978.
Dorothy worked for and retired from Young Door Company of Plymouth. Her mission in life was taking care of her family. She also enjoyed cooking. She was a member of the Culver Eagles Ladies Auxiliary and a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church of Culver.
Dorothy is survived by her sons: Paul (Janice) Broeker of Culver, John (Bonnie) Broeker of Plymouth, and James (Brenda) Broeker of Ora; daughters: Linda (Ronald) Porter of Kewanna and Mary Sweeten of Greenbrier, Ark.; sister, Edna Mae (James) Snyder of Plymouth; brothers: Harold (Barbara) Peters of Plymouth and Roger Peters; sisters-in-law:Jane and AnneMarie Broeker and Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Kirkpatrick, all of Culver; 11 grandchildren and 10 greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; son Joseph Broeker who passed away in 1998, and two brothers.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Bonine-Odom Funeral Home in Culver where friends may join the family in honoring Dorothy's life on Thursday, Jan 26 from 3 to 8 p.m. Rev. Ron Lewellen will officiate funeral services on Friday, Jan. 27, 10:30 a.m. at the Bonine-Odom
Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Burr Oak Cemetery.
