He served with his brother Alfred, in the same Company. Alfred served as Nazera Garrino. He died by drowning in 1919, and is also buried in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
The town clerk records of Brasher in 1865, shows Louis as also serving in Co. K 117th. New York Infantry from September 1864.
Records of the 117th. show a Louis G Orno enlisting at Augusta, New York 2 September 1864 as a private in Co. E. Remarks on his Muster roll Abstract on Ancestry.com state 'absent wounded since January 15 1865', the date of the battle of Fort Fisher N.C.
Casualty lists show him as Co. K Louis E Orno, suffering a severe wound to the thigh.
Applied for an invalid pension in 1891 as Lewis Arno alias Louis Garrino. claimed service in the 92nd. New York infantry and there was no mention of any service in the 117th. New York Infantry.
Another brother, Theophilus Arno served in the 146th New York Infantry from 5 September 1864 to 16 June 1865. He also served in the 117th. New York Infantry as Theophilus Herno. Records show he joined 5 September 1864, the same day as his enlistment date in the 146th New York Infantry. The records of the 117th. then show 'no further record'. Looks like he shifted allegiances.
Theophilus died at Waddington New York in 1920.
All in all, a very complicated set of lives.
