Mrs. Burneeze C. Atkins died Wednesday morning in the Oak Park Nursing Home in Auburn, Alabama. Mrs. Atkins was born in Toombs County, GA and had lived in Oak Park, GA since 1970. She was preceded in death by her husband Dewey Atkins and her parents Emmett and Annie Collins. Burneeze had been a waitress and was a member of Pendleton Springs Baptist Church.
Funeral services for Mrs. Atkins will be held Saturday afternoon at 4:00 P.M. from the Pendleton Springs Baptist Church with Reverend H.G. Ridgdill and Reverend Walter Jarrell officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons. The family will receive friends at Tomlinson Funeral Home Friday evening between the hours of 6-8 P.M.
Survivors include 2 sons, Dewey A. Atkins (Margaret) and James Robert Atkins; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson.
