Normand is son of Albert and Blanche (Boudria) Blais.
During World War II he joined the US Navy and served as a Seaman 1st Class on the USS F. D. Roosevelt. He was a carpenter by trade and had worked for the State of NH (DRED) in Bear Brook State Park, as well as state parks throughout NH, Caron Construction, and the B&M Railroad in Concord, NH.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #4666 of Suncook and the Northern NE Carpenters' Union #118. Normand loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed candlepin bowling and playing pool. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, his love of Big Band music, and his delight with his grandchildren and spending time with family.
In 2009 Mr. Blais was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Anita T. (Bonenfant) Blais. He is survived by 5 children, Lise Blais of Manchester, Nicole Trider of Concord, David Blais and his wife Luanne, Daniel Blais, and Paul Blais, all of Suncook, 10 grandchildren, David Blais, Jr., Sharon Beall, Stephanie Ellis, Eric, Melinda, and Michael Blais, Alicia and Andrew Trider, and Aimee and Ian Sanborn; 10 great grandchildren; a great great grandson; 5 siblings, Royal Blais and his wife Dorothy of Pembroke, Constance Perron of Wells, ME, Joan Bussiere of Manchester, Joyce Belanger and her husband Gerald of Laconia, and Melvin Blais of Pembroke; and nieces and nephews.
