Reed Jay Stewart was the son of Benjamin Gillespie and Mary Olive James Stewart. He was born November 6, 1922.
He married Tooele native, Leatrice Shibley, November 1, 1949. They were the parents of Paul Stewart and Pamela Stewart.
Reed was Depot Illustrator at the Tooele Army Depot. He did almost everything in the illustration field for the depot from the bar decorations at the Officers' Club to designing the Main Gate and the hugh billboard on the approach to the depot.
He died in Salt Lake City on May 2, 2000.
