Anderson Herald (Anderson, Indiana)
April 12, 1963

Joseph T. Akers, 88, a former glass-blower of the Anderson area, died at 1:40 a.m. Thursday at the Lafayette Soldiers Home. A native of Plymouth, he had worked in Anderson, Middletown, Daleville, Jonesboro, and was well known in this vicinity. He was a veteran of the Spanish-American War.

Survivors include the widow, Grace Parsons Akers; two daughters, Mrs. Beatrix Taylor of Cadiz, and Mrs. Marietta Atwell of Anderson; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the chapel of the Soldiers Home in Lafayette.
