Bobbie Jean Beasley January 4, 1939- February 23, 2011 Loving Wife, Mother and Grandmother She will always be remembered for her unique "Lucile Ball" type of personality, creativity and relentless determination to make sure others were happy. Bobbie (Bostwick) was a lifelong Long Beach resident. She attended Long Beach Wilson High School and eventually married her "high school sweetheart" Scott Bradbury; they had 2 children and 5 grandchildren. She initially began her working life at the Long Beach shipyard along with her parents, Ralph and Phyllis (Padelford). Shortly after, she transitioned to Rockwell International/Boeing where she worked for over 35 years using her "engineering mind" to build a successful career in the engineering arena, a department dominated by men. But, it was her quick mind, attention to detail and perseverance that earned her the respect of her peers. Eventually, Bobbie was remarried to George Beasley and for over 20 years and they lead a very active life that included traveling, cruises, local trips to their cabin in Running Springs. She loved her home and was very active during all the holidays. At Christmas, their home was one of the most decorated on the block. Most notable was during Halloween, where for over 15 years she and George attended various local events dressed in costumes that Bobbie had made. Her engaging personality put her in the center of her family's life and while she will certainly be missed, her spirit carries on within all of us. The family requests that any tributes to Bobbie be made in the way of a donation to Friends of Long Beach Animals/FOLBA as she had a passion for animals and especially dogs. The celebration of Bobbie's life will be held on Sunday, March 6, 2011 from 1-4PM at the Eldorado Golf Course in east Long Beach. The family welcomes you to stop by and share your sentiments.
