The Marietta Daily Journal reports that the Georgia State Patrol said 31-year-old Shanell Anderson of Sandy Springs died Friday from her injuries.
Georgia State Patrol spokeswoman Franka Young said previously that Anderson lost control of her vehicle in the Milton area early Monday morning.
Anderson called 911 and told dispatchers that her car was filling with water.
Cherokee sheriff's Lt. Jay Baker has said that her Nissan Xterra was completely submerged when rescue crews arrived.
He said two Cherokee County firefighters went into the water and used a pounding tool to break the glass since the doors were locked.
