Obit 10-19-1970 MRS. BETTERTON

TUSCOLA; Mrs Erin Betterton, 80 of 2150 Merchant Abilene died at 10 PM Monday in West Texas Medical Center. Funeral will be at 2 PM Wednesday in Tuscola United Metodist Church with the Rev. W.I. Taylor, pastor of First Baptist Church officiating. Mrs. Betterton was born Erin Cowsar Jan 14 1890 in Parker County Texas and came to Taylor County in 1907 . She married George Betterton that year. Mrs Betterton lived in Tuscola until 1939 when she moved to Monday. She lived there until 1950 when she moved to Abilene. Mrs. Betterton was a member of the Presbyterian Church. Her husband died in 1920. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Alfred Barter of Dallas and Mrs. C.R. Day of Gorman, one son F.B. of Abilene . five grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren
