Nicholas J. Cortes, also known as "Nico", 18, of Naples, FL died March 31, 2012 as the result of a motorcycle accident in Orlando, Florida. He was born August 23, 1993 in Naples, FL, the son of Maria Roman (nee Santos) and Jaime Cortes Jr. He attended MMI Technical School in Orlando, FL. He was majoring in Marine Mechanics. He was a graduate from Palmetto Ridge High School in 2011.
Nico lived his life to the fullest, exceeding at everything he did. He loved to fish, hunt and he was a natural born athlete, being one of the star players on the Palmetto Ridge football team. Nico had a special glow to him; anywhere he went he would lift everyone's mood. He had many friends and family members who love him dearly. A person like Nico is hard to come across. He would go out of his own way to help his family and friends. He had a big heart.
He attended New Hope Ministries while he lived in Naples, FL.
Nicholas is survived by his parents Maria Roman, Stepfather Santiago Roman Jr. and his father, Jaime Cortes Jr.; his sister Jackie Cortes and his brother Nathan Cortes. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 5 from 4-8 PM with a service 6 PM at New Hope Ministries, 7675 Davis Blvd, Naples. Graveside services will be held Friday, April 6 at 10 AM Palm Royale Cemetery.
