R.V., was the son of James Calvin and Mattie Ruth (Touchstone) Myers. He attended school at Pearl and Gatesville. He married the former Ethel Robertson on August 3, 1937 in Turnersville, Coryell County, Texas and had a double wedding with their best friends, Jack and Geneva (Truss) Painter. They moved to Houston in 1940. R.V and Ethel had two daughters, Yvonne and Beverly. R.V. retired in 1978 after 27 years service with Houston Lighting and Power Company. He was a member and deacon of White Oak Baptist Church. He was a wonderful dad and loved working around the house and in the yard.
