Salem - Margaret Deters of Salem died Sunday March 27 at Avera McKennan Hospital, Sioux Falls. She had reached the age of 92 years, 9 months and 2 days. Margaret (Lunders) Deters was born June 25, 1912 to Louis and Louisa (Krantz) Lunders on the amily farm north of Salem. She attended school and graduated from the very first class of St. Mary's Catholic School in 1931. On January 2, 1935, she married Edward Deters in Salem. Together farmed in Salem area until they retired and moved to town in September of 1978. Her husband died in 2001. She moved to Beverly Healthcare of Salem in 2002.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the church Altar Society , the Christian mothers and National Catholic Society of Foresters. Margaret enjoyed helping Ed on the farm, baking for her family, her big gardens, flowers, crocheting, playing cards and bingo.

Survivors include her seven children. Faye Simone of River Falls, WI, Judy (Russ) Vielleaux of Oroville, CA, Gordon of Sturgus, SD, Linda (Will) Solis of San Diego, CA, Jim (Joyce) Deters of Eden Prairie, MN, Deb (Milo) Schaffer of Olivet, SD, and Jeff (Patti) Deters of Salem. 13 grandchildren, 4 great grandchilden; and a sister, Mathilda Blizzard of Omaha, NE: and a brother-in-law Joe
Deters of Hartford, SD. She was preceded indeath by her parents, her husband Ed: 6 brothers, John, Lawrence, Edward, Bernard, Leo, and Ralph Lunders: and a son-in-law Primo Simone.

Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 30 in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Salem. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM Tuesay in the Kinzley Funeral Home, Salem, with rosaried at 3:00 and 7:15 PM and scripture service at 7:30 PM all in the funeral home
