1922 - 2009
Reed Howey Henderson died Friday, August 28, 2009 at his home in Riverdale, Utah.

Reed was born September 27, 1922 at his aunt's home on Madison Avenue, a son of Robert John and Mary Lowery Howey Henderson. He attended Ogden's Million Dollar High School (Ogden High).

He married Marjorie Alice Weaver in the Salt Lake Temple on August 7, 1942.

Reed served during WWII with the U.S. Army Air Corp.

He worked for Marveon Sign Company prior to working for the Federal Government at Hill Air Force Base for over 30 years. He was also the owner of Henderson Painting.

Reed was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served in several bishoprics, on high councils, on All Church Athletic Committee and was a volunteer with the highest numbers of hours building the Weber Heights Stake Center. He was also a member of the 18th Ward Male Chorus.

He and his wife Marjorie were members of the Wholly Rollers Bowling League for over twenty years. They also continued to be active in two dinner groups that have met for over 40 years. One of his greatest joys was building a cabin in Manor Lands, Utah and sharing it with his family.

Reed is survived by his wife, Marjorie Weaver Henderson, six daughters, Peggy Henderson, M. Kay and Leon Peterson, Robin and William Parent, Heidi and Tracy Welch, Teri Anderson, and Lori and Lance Stalcar; two sons, Bruce and Sherrie Henderson and R. Also surviving are his sister-in-law, Louella Henderson, and his brother-in-law and best friend, Johnny Johnson.

Reed was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Mary Henderson, daughter Maryelyne Henderson, two sisters Ada Dalebout and Lillian Thompson, and one brother John Henderson.
