Paul M Crowther 1932 ~ 2009 Paul was born Feb. 27th, 1932. Died April 24th, 2009 after a long courageous battle with multiple myeloma cancer. Preceded in death by his wives Alice, and Wanda, parents Robert, and Grace, brothers and sisters Afton, Effie, Robert, the twins and Lovinnia. Paul has left behind his brothers and sisters, Melva (Colorado); Wills and Alma (Colorado); Betty (Arizona); Wayne (Colorado); children, Robert and Angie, Scot and Carol, and Randall; grandchildren (Robert's) Destiny and Josh, Robert Jr and Ashley, Alice and Landon, Breanna, Caleb, and Madison, (Scot's) Shandy and Aaron, and Shelby; great-grandchildren Brittany, Paige, Gabriel, Gracie, Austin, Cole, Kennzie, Brysen. Paul was taught at an early age the value of a honest day's work for a honest day's pay, Paul worked full time on the family farm and ranch until 1952, enlisted into the U.S. Armed Forces and served in the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged in 1954, moved to Salt Lake City and married his sweetheart, soul mate and love of his life Alice in 1957, widowed and married Wanda in 1971, worked for Safeway, Mountain Fuel, Union Pacific Railroad, and Hercules as a fireman for 15 years, owned and operated A & P Fire Equipment. Then retired after 30 years of service as a South Salt Lake City Firefighter/EMT in 2001. Paul will be remembered as a true friend to all, he had love, kindness and compassion for others that endeared everyone to him, a man filled with integrity. As a person, he was fun loving and outgoing. As a father, a genuine loving kind and compassionate man. As a man he taught by example, taught values like honesty, integrity and hard work to his children as well. So many of us were blessed through his hours of selfless service. He was part of a breed of honest, patriotic, hard working and naturally heroic men, that did not need recognition or praise for his efforts. Rare in life, a man has two families. When you are a firefighter however, you love your job and the brave men you work alongside as much as you do your own flesh and blood. Your love is divided between your family and brave men willing to risk their lives for another person they have never met or know anything about. To my father's firefighter family, you had a true friend and co-worker. To my family my father was a hero! One that his family will remember as a gentle kind caring loving father and grandfather. His grand and great-grandchildren will remember Grandpa Paul as affectionate and easily lovable as he was loving. His example and quiet strength has impacted our family greatly. In his own words "It's been a great life". My father's heartfelt compassion and praise is to the So. Salt Lake City Firefighters and EMT's, to all the fine people at the Huntsman Cancer Center and the U of U Hospital, and to his family and friends for their strength, love and support. My father and our family are thankful for the blessing of Ashley Crowther, Robert Jr's. wife for being by dad's side the last few years on a daily basis for everything dad needed.
