Served in Co. I, 173rd Pennsylvania Infantry during the Civil War.∼Daniel last appeared on the Federal Census in 1900 in Shenandoah. Apparently he died between 1900 and 1906 because I did not find a death certificate listed for him in the PA Death Indices online. He was 65 years old and widowed in 1900. He was born in April of 1835 in Pennsylvania. Living with him were his daughter Martha W. and Jacob. His wife Mary Catherine Metz died on February 3, 1895, and is also buried in the Odd Fellows' Cemetery.
