Margaret Ann Edwards was born 26 Mar 1876 in Pendleton, Lancashire, England to Ellis and Mary Roberts Edwards.
At thirteen, Margaret Ann quit school and went to work full time at the Cotton Mill in Tinsley, England, where they made white cotton fabric, and she learned to weave.
They went to work at 6:00 a.m. until 8:00 a.m., then off 1/2 hr. for breakfast; back to work 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon, 1/2 hr. off for lunch; back to work from 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. When she quit, they gave her a recommendation that she could come back to work at any time. Margaret Ann could operate three different looms when she quit.
She came to America in 1895 when Daniel sent for her after his wife Elizabeth Waddoups died. They were married 30 Oct 1895, in the Logan, Utah Temple
She helped raise 7 of Daniel Cotton and Elizabeth Waddoups Wood's children, plus 5 of her own.
She is remembered by one of her great-grandchildren as a very proper Englishwoman with a strong English accent.
Margaret Ann Edwards Wood died 27 Apr 1968 at Blackfoot, Bingham, Idaho and was buried 1 May 1968 at the Thomas-Riverside Cemetery, Bingham, Idaho.
