Willam Anderson,
Westphalia.–The Angel of Death claimed one of our beloved citizens
Thursday, March 9, when Mr. William Anderson passed to his eternal reward
at his home here.
Mr. William Anderson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Anton M. Anderson, was born
March 11, 1901, in Lincoln Township and passed away at the age of 37 years
two days. The deceased was a member of St. Boniface parish at Westphalia
for five years.
Funeral services were held on Saturday morning, March 11, at St.
Boniface church. The Requiem High Mass was sung by Rev. H. E. Duren. He
was laid to rest in St. Boniface cemetery.
The pall~bearers were: Richard Brath of Portsmouth, Lavern Jacobs of
Harlan, Warren Kohl of Tennant, Melvin Coenen, George Evans and Wilfred
Coenen, all of Westphalia.
On January 27, 1930, he was united in marriage to Cecilia Gessert of
Portsmouth, Iowa. To this union three children were born, Geraldine,
Gerald and Lavern.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
Those left to mourn his loss are his wife, Cecilia, three children,
Gerald and Laverne, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Anton Anderson, one brother,
one brother, Fred Anderson and one sister, Mrs. Anne Kohl of Tennant. When
God called him home He took a knd and loving father. His going leaves an
irreparable loss in the hearts of his family.
He took an active interest in the public affairs of the community in
which he lived and won for himself a great host of friends. He will be
greatly missed in church and civic affairs for his honest, kind and helpful
ways.

Mrs. Anton Anderson, son Fred, Mr. Nick Jacobs, Mr. and Mrs Oscar Anastasi,
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Boettger and Herman Boettger, all of Harlan, Mr. and Mrs.
Frank Watts of Atlantic, Mr. And Mrs. Roy Hansen and Mrs. Anne Kohl and
daughters of Tennant: Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gessert and family, Mr. and Mrs.
August Michalski; Mr. Fred Urath and Norman Michalski, all of Portsmouth,
Mrs. Will Shea of Adair; Mr. and Mrs. George Wagner, Leo Walts, Mr and Mrs.
Pat Kons of Panama; Mr. and Mrs. Jack Walts and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. John
Waltz and son and daughter, Mr and Mrs. Arnold Gessert, Mr. Leon Waltz, all
of Camby, Minn.

Card of Thanks
We wish to thank the many relatives, friends and neighbors, especially
Rev. H. E. Duran who so kindly assisted us during the illness and death of
our dearly beloved husband, father and son also for the many spritual and
floral bouquets.
