Kinder- Funeral service for Mr. Eugene "Gene" Allemand, 72, will be held Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at 10:00AM in Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder. Father Marshall Boulet will officiate. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery in Elton. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 10AM-10PM with a vigil service at 6:30PM and a rosary will follow. Visitation will continue Wednesday at 8AM until time of service. Mr. Allemand was a resident of Kinder, and he retired from Hunt Oil after 30 years of service. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, and he was an Auxiliary Police Officer. Gene enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and especially spending time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed playing the guitar, the accordion, and the fiddle. Gene was a loving husband, dad, brother, and paw paw. He had many friends and family who will truly miss him. Gene and his loving wife, Frances Duhon Allemand, would have celebrated their 51th wedding anniversary July 11, 2010. He is also survived by his children; Doris Allemand, Anthony Allemand and wife Jennifer, Darlene Manuel and husband Selten all of Kinder; one brother, Robert Allemand and wife Carolyn of Kinder; 6 grandchildren, Justin Manuel, Jessica Manuel, Kayla Manuel, Corey Allemand, Lance Allemand, and Savannah Allemand.
