BARBER Lois Rhoden Barber, 83, passed away Wednesday, October 31, 2007. She was born January 9, 1924 in Baker County to the late Eddie B. "Ed" and Lillie Mae Baxley Rhoden, one of the founding families of Baker County. In addition, she was preceded in death by her husband, T.A. Barber and brother Ray Rhoden. She was a founding member of Marietta Church of Christ. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She dearly loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was greatly loved and will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and church family. Surviving family members include her children, Randy Barber and his wife , Sharon of Jacksonville, Gary Barber of Jacksonville, Cindy Caldwell and husband, Alex of Macclenny, Tammy Megowan and husband, Harry of Jacksonville; 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one on the way; sister, Alice Berry of Jacksonville; brothers, Jamie Rhoden and wife, Ruth of Jacksonville, Billy Rhoden and wife, Mary of Chatahoochee, Fl, Elijah Rhoden and wife, Virginia of Starke; sisters- in- law Lennie Rhoden of MacClenney, Fl and Grace Burns of Orlando, Fl, beloved aunt numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 2, 2007 in Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Blvd. with Minister Harold Dowdy officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, November 1, 2007 at Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, Florida (904) 781-9262.
