The funeral service for Lawrence P. Anderson, who died Friday at his home at 1110 N. Jefferson, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Waugh-Yokum funeral Home. The Rev. Jim Dillow will officiate. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery at Mildred.
Mr. Anderson was born march 5, 1900 in Sweethome, Neb., and came to Kansas with his family in 1913. He married Geneva P. Zornes July 1, 1930 in Fort Scott, and they lived and farmed in the Elsmore area until moving to Iola in 1964. For several years, Mr. Anderson worked at the ice plant and in 1951 started work at the Iola Greenhouse. He retired in 1964. Survivors include his wife of the home, two sons, Larry Anderson and Bobby Anderson, both of Iola; two daughters, Pauline Hill and Shirley Fursman, also of Iola; two brothers, Ruben Anderson of Caldwell, Idaho, and Walter Anderson of Arcadia, Neb., a sister, Ruth Broughton, St. George, Kan.; 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A son, Lawrence Anderson, Jr., died in infancy.
