Charles Fell served in the Union Army during the Civil War and died from disease. He was a 24 year old with plenty of patriotic fever. He was average size, 5'7", with red hair, light complexion, and brown eyes. Charles mustered into the 4th Regiment, Company H (Eagle Guards) April 19, 1861 at Bellefonte, Centre County, PA for three months of service as a Private. He was Mustered Out on July 27, 1861 at Harrisburg, PA. He then mustered on August 12, 1861 as a Private in Company E of the 1st Pennsylvania Cavalry (44th PA Infantry). PA. He died on August 15, 1863 while on leave from the Army from disease.
