Walter P. Marion, 57, well known Cambridge automobile dealer and storage garage operator and former Jeffersonian linotype foreman, died Monday evening at 8:45 o'clock at his home, No. 419 N. 9th St. He had been ill for three years and one month and became critical about two weeks ago.

Mr. Marion was born on April 7, 1885, in West Virginia, a son of Frank and Mary Marion, and had been a resident of Cambridge the past 33 years. Before coming to this city he resided in Marietta and McConnellsville, engaging in business in both of those places.

The deceased served for 13 years as linotype foreman of The Jeffersonian and was at one time affiliiated with Cambridge Typographical Union No. 208. Later he was associated with V. W. Fordyce in the garage business and in 1923 he built the large National garage, W. Wheeling Ave., which he owned and operated.

A man of excellent habits, Mr. Marion possessed an attractive personality and was held in high esteem b a legion of friends and acquaintances. His ability enabled him to build up a prosperous business in the field of automobile sales and storage and won him the admiration and respect of all who knew him.

Mr. Marion was a man of good character, honest, dependable and unswerving in his support of the better things in life. His word was accepted as the truth and his acquaintances had abiding faith in him. He commanded their respect and confidence, and he unflinchingly stood for all moral issues. He was devoted to his family and they were almost inseparable companions.

Surviving, in addition to his widow, Mrs. Elsie Stokely Marion, are three children.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday morning at 9 o'clock at the St. Benedict Catholic church, of which he was a memeber, by the pastor, Rev. Father C. H. Crock, and burial will be made in Mt. Calvary cemetery, west of Cambridge. The body will be returned to the home Tuesday evening from Huhn funeral home. S. Tenth St.
