March 3, 1834 Cullen Conerly and Levicy Conerly for $650 sells to Martin Lewis a tract of land lot No 7, section 34, T 4, R 13 E, containing 74 acres; also Lot No 1 of section 34, containing 80 acres, District of Washington. Witness; James Burkett and Josiah B. Lewis. Levicy Conerly swears that she voluntarily signed the deed to Martin Lewis.
Conerly's Water Mill, built in 1848 by Cullen William Conerly at the eastern end of the present day Broad Street in Tylertown, Conerly's purchase of the old Thornhill tract proved critical in the establishment of Conerly's Post Office, now Tylertown. (See attached photo) Conerly's Mill was run by water power and included an upright saw, cotton gin and press, a rice pestle mill and fan, and a grist mill.
