DNA testing of a direct descendant shows that Daniel in turn was a descendant of John Ball & Elizabeth Pierce of Watertown & Lancaster, MA. Based on current data it is most likely that this Daniel Ball was the son of Jonathan Ball and Sarah Whitney. Moreover, after the death of his father, it is probable that this Daniel Ball was raised by his much older cousin, John Ball and Abigail Harrington and mentioned in that John's will as though he were a natural son. He was raised by relatives after Jonathan Ball's death after 1727.
Daniel Ball and his wife were admitted to full communion in the church. That same day his sons, Moses, Aaron & Daniel, were baptized. The North Precinct of Parish of Shrewsbury, MA, was established Dec. 17, 1742. Daniel's father-in-law, Aaron Newton, was admitted to the church Jan. 12, 1745.
