Genetta Cox, 87, Ripley, died September 8, 2013 at Golden Living Center in Ripley. She was born May a5, 1926 to Pink Howard and Mary Grace Carter Spight. After marrying James Wiley Alexander of Ripley she moved to Columbus where she joined Northside Baptist Church. She was employed at Lowndes County School District. Services were September 14 at Foster and Son Funeral Home Chapel with burial in St. John Cemetery in Ripley. Minister Tracy Cox officiated. Survivors include four nephews, Dennis Ray Cox and Gween Lavon Spears, Falkner, Eric Terrell Cox (Melissa), Ripley, and Tracy Phillip Cox (Olive), Falkner; two nieces, Teresa Gale Prather (Travis), Charlotte, NC, and Charlene Marie Prather (Jarvis), Acworth, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and a sister, Ora Lee Cox Prather.
