A funeral for John Lee Ahrens of Oregon City will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Oregon City Evangelical Church. Burial will be in Mt. View Cemetery.
He died of heart problems Saturday in an Oregon City care center. Mr. Ahrens was 77.
Born Aug. 1, 1913, in Brewster, Neb., he lived in Iowa and Nebraska before moving to the Oregon City area in 1951. Mr. Ahrens worked for Crown Zellerbach Inc. in several positions for 23 years. He retired as a watchman in 1973. He was a member of the Oregon City Evangelical Church.
Survivors include his son, Edward, and his daughter, Velda L. Schoonover, both of Oregon City; sister, Margaret Davis of Pittsburg, Mo.; and three grandchildren. His wife, Marguerite Ahrens died in 1962.
The family suggests that rememberances be contributions to Oregon City Evangelical Church.
