He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Skolaut Schmidt, Cleveland, MS; three children: Connor Schmidt, Dylan Schmidt and Brianna Schmidt all of Cleveland, MS; parents: Tom and Susie Schmidt of Peabody, KS; brothers: Brett Schmidt (Jennifer) of Topeka, KS and Jeff Schmidt (Carol) of Eudora; nieces and nephews: Taylor and Logan Schmidt, both of Eudora and Carson and Tucker Harvey, both of Liberty, MO; paternal grandmother: Nellie Schmidt of Peabody; maternal grandfather: Marshall Pierce of Newton; wife’s parents: Chuck and Mary Skolaut of Newington, CT; sister-in-law: Angie and Flynn Harvey of Liberty, MO and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and beloved friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Marie Pierce; and paternal grandfather, Don Schmidt.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2:30 PM on Saturday at Peabody High School Brown Building in Peabody. Celebration of Life will follow beginning at 3 PM on Saturday at the same location with the Rev. James Pohlman, Jr. and Rev. Sylvia Czarnetzky officiating. Interment will be at Prairie Lawn Cemetery in Peabody, KS.
