Funeral of James Beige
The funeral of James Beige was held Monday morning from the home of his son, H. S. Beige, Baldwin Street, in the presence of many friends and relatives. The services were conducted by Rev. M. r. Kunkelman, of Cambridge Springs, and the Interment was made in the Saegertown Cemetery. Three sons and a grandson assisting as bearers.
James Beige, son of Peter and Charlotte Beige, was born in Woodcock Township, Crawford County, Pennsylvania, February 7, 1835. He was confirmed in the Lutherian Church of Saegertown in early youth and was alway loyal and consistant to that faith to the time of his death, being transferred by letter from the church at Saegertown to the Lutheran Church at Meadville. he served as an officer and was always found in his pew when it was possible, for him to attend services of whatever nature.
He was kind and considerate and beloved by all departing from this life on October 26, 1917, aged 65 years, 7 months and 26 days. There remains to mourn his loss his wife, and three sons: Harry S., Clarence G. and Luther K., and one grandson, Merle E,, also one brother, Monroe Beige, aged 93 years of age who is now the only survivor of a family of 13 children.
